Corsets, Andy & Deadlines

Pretty much all day yesterday Andy and I had a serious overview meeting about the wedding plans. We went through our massive knot.com checklist (completed & non-completed to) brush up on what had been done and what needs to get done. It was really cool to put our heads together again and brainstorm, as we have both been so busy working our tails off. We set deadlines for every purchase, porject and phonecall that needs to be made. This has been months of research and planning and now it's Go Time! We have a really clear vision of what we want and will be hacking away at all the actualizing tasks in the next 1 1/2 month to get a headstart and have relaxed time going into the wedding. Whirlwind Wedding Madnessssss!

On another note, today Mom and I bought some more pieces of fabric and crystal lace and then found the slip for my gown. Almost all the materials needed have been found, now I need to get a corset, shoes & accesories. I am so excited to see how it is going to come out and it's been so fun to work on it with my Mom!

Pots Saga

When we finally got the pot liners for the centerpieces they were too big and we couldn't figure out how to attach the bamboo to them to make the pots strong enough. That took a whole day to figure out!

Then Andy found some cheap terracota pots at Ikea that we could just paint gold. He called and the Brooklyn store had enough for us to get 10 12"pots with saucers. I drove up to the Brooklyn Ikea and found the pots, which I thought were too big also, but I bought them and lugged them home. I just wanted to get this project done with.

Of course, the next day Mom and Andy both tell me the pots are too big for centerpieces, which I agreed. Although we have decided to grow Bamboo in those for around the reception room, mostly because I refuse to have to lug them all back to Brooklyn!

Then Mom found the right size terracotta pots at Walmart, but all of there stores had a few of each. So the next day I spent driving to 4 different Walmarts in Monmouth & Ocean Counties piecing together all the pots and saucers I needed.

The best part of the story though is that Andy & Warren got together this past weekend and the plants are officially potted!!!! I love a Happy Ending!

Bridal Sweat Shop Alert!!

Hey Ladies & Gents! Sue has so graciously and awesomely offered to grow & ordered the plants for the VIP Centerpieces. They have arrived! Unfortunately the original pots I ordered became out of stock mysteriously a week after I ordered them, so I had to re-order new ones. They will be arrivinge sometime next week and we have to ready them with bamboo siding & get the plants in them as soon as possible! So I will be calling an emergency potting party soon... complete with wine!
Stayed tuned...

Bouquet/Garter Toss

I want your opinion on this.

Some people think it's creepy, some say it's goofy, some say it's standard tradition you have to follow. I'm not sure where I stand on wether or not to do the tosses. At a couple of wedding's I have attended it was dorky yet fun and got a laugh out of me. Then there was that one wedding were my cousin had to put the garter on my sister...ew creepy.

What do you think should we do it? part of it? or not at all?

Invitations! Invitations! Invitations!

I spent 6 houre the other day trying to really crack down on my favorite design ideas for the invitations. I'm still not done yet! But I think at this point I've got it narrowed down. I just need to do some final editting. But the best part is, I got my invitations & enclosures down to under $100.00!!!! It's like a Christmas Miracle! More to come on this...

Bridal Registries Info

We have registered at Amazon.com & TravelersJoy.com.

We decided there are things we don't have and some people like to give household items for wedding gifts, so I created a registry at Amazon.com for this purpose. It's mostly kitchen stuff & couple other items. I thought going the internet store route would be easiest for all of our guests. For the out-of-towners they can have the gifts shipped directly to us and not have to leave the house or travel with a blender! If you know someone who wants to gift this way, I suggest you tell them if they buy multiple items to make sure it's all mailed from the same location.

The TravelersJoy.com registry is for our California Honeymoon! This is for guests who want to give a more whimsical gift to enjoy on our honeymoon. It includes sunset cruises in both San Fransico & San Diego Bays, dinner for two in Big Sur overlooking the ocean, a Napa County Wine Tasting Train, Gliding over Joshua Tree National Park, and much more. Jessica liked this idea so much that she has decided to make my NJ Bridal Shower a California Honeymoon themed party, requesting guests purchase things from this registry. The way it works is guests can look through the registry, click an item & pay for it right there. Then a week before the wedding we'll get a check for the amount accumulated and list of every gift and who it came from... just in time for the honeymoon.
